The Cleanse! Part One of a long Journey to a healthier me

WOW! What an amazing, inspiring, informative, fact finding 60 plus days this has been. I started my Renew Life Candida Cleanse with a very opened mind. I was ready to start working on what I was putting in my body and on getting the bad stuff out! I did work with a Doctor of Naturology and she directed me as to what cleanse I should start with as well as monitoring my progress.

I started with the ReNew Life CANDIGONE, FIBERSMART, OILSMART and CANDIZYME products. I purchased these items at www.renewlife.com I also followed the recommended foods to eat and not to eat list. This is where it became interesting and a little bit of a challenge. You see I have 46 years of not so good eating habits and how was I going to change them? After all so many of these foods had provided comfort to me in tough times. Like the ever so loving Cheese Quesadia with its Carb induced tortia loaded with butter and melted cheese or the juicy hamburger with swiss cheese, mushrooms, bacon and mayo, not too mention the over salted fries that took the pain away even more when they were dipped in Ranch Dressing. Lets not forget the occasional cold beer that made everything right or the margarita loaded with sugar and salt.

It looked like it was going to be a tough road but to my surprise I did really well. In fact, I was able to stay away from the cheese, tortias, white rice, wheat noodles, beer, margaritas, raw sugars, mayo, ketchup and mushrooms! I will say that I was not able to ditch the daily cup of coffee but surprisingly I did quit using the 2 packs of raw sugar that I was putting into it. I am not so sure that I like coffee anymore. Was it the coffee or the sugar that I was in love with, Mmm? 

Here are some of the foods that I am currently eating

I shop the Organic, Gluten Free section of my market. I eat a lot of salmon & tilapia, turkey, chicken and vegetables. I eat brown rice maybe once a month, rice based noodles occasionally, sweet potatoes often and really just about anything that is Gluten/Wheat free, low or no sugar. Ironically I am not so excited about red meat any more. I tried to eat a steak the other night and it was not so tasty. 

Eating the right foods and being aware of what is being put into them as well as where they are coming from is all very important. Its a great start to Being the HEALTHIEST VERSION of YOU! Working on your Mind, Body and Soul are just as important and a key factor in the success of being the BEST VERSION OF YOU! 

I titled this Part One because there is so much more to share. It wasn’t just about being a healthy weight and eating better for me. It has also been about taking the shield off that has protected me all of these years. The shield of extra pounds and emotional outbursts through food, medications and alcohol. 

This is just the beginning to living a healthy life free of addictions. Too date I have lost 15 pounds, have eliminated almost all sugar from my diet and have been alcohol free for 3 months. 

Part Two will come soon. This journey as you can imagine is a very personal one, however I truly believe that I am suppose to share it with you. 

I encourage you to take one small step in being a healthier version of you! I know you can do it!
